Pastry workshops
Join a pastry workshop led by Sonya, a pastry chef with 20 years of experience and former owner of Sachère Desserts. You will learn step by step how to make, assemble, and decorate a cake. At the end of the class, you will leave with your finished cake and the recipe to recreate it at home. The class is intended for beginner adults. Vegan and gluten-free options are also available.

In September, I propose a unique version of the traditional Swedish cake "Princess Cake." During this hands-on workshop, we will make my Matcha Princess Cake with mascarpone and raspberry, covered with a delicate matcha marzipan for a refined and original touch. On the agenda, you will also learn to prepare homemade marzipan and how to make a marzipan rose to elegantly decorate your cake. Whether you are a beginner or a pastry enthusiast, this workshop is the ideal opportunity to develop your skills, discover new flavors, and leave with a superb cake to share (or to keep for yourself!).

I have been a customer of Sachère since day one and a fervent admirer of Sonya’s cakes and pastries. Participating in the making, learning new techniques, and leaving with both a recipe and a delicious cake was truly a gift. The classes are a must for all pastry enthusiasts!

I took a few baking and cake decorating classes with Sonya. She welcomes us openly and warmly into her heart and her world. I love being able to taste all the ingredients individually before putting it all together! Making a cake in the real world takes a long time because we have to wait for the layers and frosting to cool - being able to make a cake in 2.5 hours is pretty incredible!

For me, taking a pastry class with Sonya is a bit like having a private guitar lesson with Jimmy Hendrix :) Her lessons are very well structured, you don't feel rushed and Sonya is precise and attentive. With patience and always smiling, she encourages, demonstrates and ensures that we understand the technique. She makes the steps clear, it's rigorous without being intimidating. In the end the result is sophisticated, aesthetic and delicious, and it's with a lot of pride that you leave with your cake, while having learned lots of things. I'm going back as soon as possible!
